Mike is a highly experienced Producer and Director with over 18 years of Production and Casting experience having worked on some of the most successful and highest rating entertainment shows on British and Australian television, including several BAFTA-winning series of the iconic “Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway” show.
Mike set up Create & Cast in 2015 and has since been commissioned to deliver several original productions including online reality series for YD Menswear, branded content for Kia Motors Worldwide with globally renowned 3D artist Joe Hill, and a prime time Channel 10 comedy special of Em Rusciano’s Rage & Rainbows tour which he Executive Produced. Mike also created Live from Stonewall, a comedy livestream entertainment series that went on to become Australia’s most successful queer livestream show with over 120k episode views, was nominated for a Time Out Award and received a Cultural Resilience Grant from The City Of Sydney.
In 2019, Mike also took Create & Cast to Africa to shot product content for international ethical shopping platform The Together Project in Ghana, and oversaw production of British dating series ‘The Connection’ for Amazon Audible Originals. He’s provided expert Casting services to Fremantle Media for the most recent two series of ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ including scouting several finalists. In previous years Create & Cast has provided Producer, Director and Casting services to Jamie Oliver’s Woolworths TVC, ‘Created with Jamie’, and the Fitness First international reality series ‘Fit For Fashion’ based in Singapore.
Through Create & Cast, Mike recently won commissions to create concepts and produce a music video for international cabaret star Hans, and global online consumer content for American retailer Pure For Men. In past years Mike had several other projects commissioned including content for Australian retailers Nude by Nature and Slim Secrets, and provides annual voluntary crew services to the ‘Mardi Gras Film Festival’, also joining Queer Screen as a Board Associate and since working on each festival including this year’s 2020 season. We’ve assisted the Australian shoots for MTV’s Geordie Shore spin-off series ‘The Charlotte Show’, and fitness lifestyle videos for MTV Fit. We also Directed and co-Produced the ‘Pitch Perfect 3 ‘ Australian Premiere Red Carpet live stream for Universal Pictures, and worked for ZigZag TV on producing ‘The ARIA Awards’ Red Carpet with content for Apple, Telstra, Pepsi, and David Jones, and for Sony Music on a YouTube reality series ‘The ShareSpace’. Create & Cast has facilitated shoots from the UK and ASIA on behalf of larger international Production Companies, and is continuing to grow and develop exciting new projects for 2019.
Originally from the UK, Mike emigrated to Australia in October 2014 having finished work at ITV for several years as Producer on the multiple BAFTA Award winning series ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ (Best Entertainment Programme 2014 & 2015) and the nationwide spin-off arena show ‘Takeaway On Tour’ plus many other television productions for major UK broadcasters including BBC One, BBC THREE, and Channel 4. In Australia, he’s worked for larger independent companies including Endemol Shine Australia and Fremantle Media on various reality/studio productions including ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ 2016 season (Nine) – where he also scouted the act who went on to win – ‘Australian Ninja Warrior’ (Nine), ‘Australia’s Next Top Model’ (Foxtel), ‘All Together Now’ (Channel 7), ‘Game of Games’ (Network Ten) and ‘The Voice’ (Channel Nine). He has also worked on nationwide TV and Digital advertising campaigns both in the UK and Australia, and produced ITV’s biggest Commercial showcase events, the ‘Upfronts’ on behalf of ITV’s UK Director Of Television, which won several industry awards.
